KING SUEN is pleased that CHUN and YIM have become amicable with each other. QUEEN DOWDAGER is overjoyed at the imperial sorcerer's prediction that CHUN is pregnant with a boy. KING SUEN complains to YING and other officials as they chill out together. YING's mother, MADAME AN-CHU, has fallen ill. WAI visits her. She deduces from the large quantity of cosmetics YING has bought that he is in love with someone.
