姜傲秀（严泰雄饰）在中学时期是一个不良份子，常常与朋友欺负同学。傲秀的同学郑泰勋看不过眼，拿着刀去找吾秀谈判，但傲秀抢了刀，两人推撞期间，刀意外地插入了泰勋的腹部，因此而死。小学生徐海英（申敏儿饰）在上学途中，捡到了傲秀朋友掉下的篮球，拿着它时脑海见到傲秀杀人的一幕，告知警察却没人相信她，自此，海英便有了“触摸物件便能看到它所遇到的事情”的特异功能。傲秀的爸爸是有权有势的国会议员，最终他以自卫杀人的名义无罪释放。12年后，傲秀因罪疚当了警察，海英在图书馆当管理员。泰勋的弟弟泰成，他的朋友吴承贺在一次交通意外中死去，泰成就装作他自己死去，而以朋友吴承贺（朱智勋饰）的身份活下去，努力读书成为一个律师。其后，一连串的杀人案件都发生在傲秀身边的人，表面上看似没有关连，但所有有关12年前杀人案件的人都被牵连在内，在海英的帮助下，傲秀怀疑有人在幕后策划一切。
