三尖树时代
绰号三脚妖的这种植物是经过基因改造的人工植物，长着可怕的毒刺，并且拥有和动物类似的敏锐感官，以及三只可以移动的 "脚"。在这个故事里，人们为了获取它们身上的油（汁液）而大量种植它们。一场诡异的流星雨用不可思议的亮度照亮了全球，绝大多数人类的眼睛在瞬间变瞎了。三脚妖于是乘人类虚弱之际发动 "叛乱"，可怜的人类因为看不见东西，竟毫无还手之力。该故事于1962年被拍成电影，1981年被BBC拍成电视剧，2009年将再次被BBC拍成电视剧。
