En ung kvinna och hennes bror skall besöka deras familjegrav på en ödslig belägen kyrkogård. När de väl kommer dit och sedan kliver ur bilen blir brodern attackerad av en zombie. Barbara tvingas lämna honom blödande och springer i panik därifrån tills hon kommer fram till ett hus där till slut sju personer barrikerar sig för att kämpa för att överleva de levande dödas natt.
