1957年、コネティカット州。紅葉の美しいニューイングランドの町ハートフォード。キャシーは愛すべき夫と子供たちに囲まれ、貞淑な妻であり賢い母として忙しくも幸せな毎日を送っていた。女性として常に美しく、“理想の主婦”として雑誌の取材を受ける彼女は周囲の賞賛と憧れの対象だった。しかし、ある日夫の忌まわしい秘密が露呈され、キャシーの人生は一転する。
