Lara Tyler (Alice Eve) egyike a leghíresebb színésznőknek, mégis egy vágya van csupán: békében akar hozzámenni vőlegényéhez, a forgatókönyvíró James Arborhoz (David Tennant). A paparazzik állandó jelenléte miatt úgy döntenek, otthonuktól távol, egy kedves skót kisvárosban bújnak el. Ám minden hiába, mikor a helyiek rájönnek, kik rejtőznek náluk, azonnal értesítik a sajtót. Laránál betelik a pohár... Menedzsere, hogy elterelje a paparazzik figyelmét, álesküvőt szervez. Az ötlet mindenki számára remeknek tűnik, a helyiek között meg is találják Lara helyettesítőjét. A csalétek Katie (Kelly MacDonald) lesz, egy kedves, bájos helyi lány. Ahogy James egyre jobban megismeri, elbizonytalanodik. Vajon tényleg Lara az ő igaz szerelme?
