Cheung Sung-bong (Donnie Yen) ist ein rechtschaffener Polizist, der von seiner Behörde dafür bewundert wird, viele Fälle gelöst zu haben. Eines Tages holt ihn seine Vergangenheit ein, als sein Einsatz von einer mysteriösen Gruppe Krimineller, angeführt von seinem ehemaligen Schützling Yau Kong-Ngo (Nicholas Tse), angegriffen wird. Yau Kong-Ngo war einst ein talentierter Polizist, der Cheung bewunderte und respektierte. Doch ein schrecklicher Unfall, der ihn vor drei Jahren ins Gefängnis brachte, verwandelte ihn in einen wütenden Mann mit dem Ziel, jeden zu töten, der ihm Unrecht getan hat – einschließlich seines ehemaligen Mentors.
