Fantastická cesta profesora Aronnaxe ve filmovém zpracování z roku 1954 legendárního dobrodružného románu Julese Vernea. Profesor Aronnax, proslulý podmořský vědec je vyzván námořnictvem, aby identifikoval záhadného tvora, který zničil parník v Severním Atlantiku. Po mnoha dnech hledání však najde něco, co vůbec nečekal. Záhadný tvor je ve skutečnosti ponorka budoucnoti Nautilus, řízená kapitánem Nemo. Jedná se o naprosto nadčasový snímek co se týče triků, s vynikajícím scénářem a hereckými výkony. Obzvláště záběry Nautila pod hladinou a potápěčské scény byly na svou dobu něco naprosto fantastického. Je to první širokoúhlý film společnosti Walt Disney.
